For we know that if our earthly [a]house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our [b]habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as [c]a guarantee.

6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

The Judgment Seat of Christ
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

Be Reconciled to God
12 For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [d]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

OBSERVATIONS:
- In his second letter to his friends in the city of Corinth, Paul described these physical bodies that we live in as "earthly tents" ... something that Paul would know a lot about. One of the ways that Paul supported himself and his ministry was by making and repairing tents.
- The first thing we need to realize is that, as Christians, oftentimes the longer we live here the more difficult our existence seems to be, & the less attractive this world really is to us.
-This life is uncertain, & it can be destroyed in a second. No matter how much we have, or how much we try to protect ourselves, we're still living in an insecure tent.
-But remember also what Paul says in vs. 10, "We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."
- verse 14 in that we die and now are under love
-verse 15 in that we live for God not ourselves
-verse 16 in that we are alive spiritually
- verse 17 in that we are a new creation in Christ.
-Christians are "in Christ" which means we are new people and have a new position with God because of Jesus Christ.
- we are ambassadors for Christ
- God sent Jesus Christ as the way of reconciliation... a way of peace. He had a message of reconciliation and He is also the way of reconciliation. He had a message of peace with God and was at the same time the peacemaker.
- Reconciliation means forgiveness takes place between God and us and Jesus pays the price for it.

APPLICATION:
- "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." - Matthew 5:9
- We need to understand that we are ambassadors for Christ
- This life is temporary and our focus should be eternal house.
- We all need to stand in front of judgement seat. We should be fearful for every action we do.

As it says in v3 "if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked" so if are clothed with our heavenly habitation then we will not mind the troubles and issues in this life since we will eagerly looking forward to the heavenly life. Also we are very confident though we are in this mortal body since we walk by faith and not sight. So whether we are present in earthly body or heavenly the key is to be living a pleasing life to God. If we are in Christ old things have passed away and all things have become new. As ambassadors of Christ we need to urge everyone to reconcile with God

Application :
We should remember our kingdom is in heaven and this life in this mortal body is temporary so we should always live a life pleasing to God so that we will be able to face God with confidence in the last day. If we still have some old things in our mind and body that means we need to get closer to God. Finally we need to realize we are ambassadors of Christ and urge everyone to reconcile with God

2 Corinthians 5 [Resurrection] [message #937]

Observation:

Eternal heaven is our permanent house so we are from heaven from god.
world is our tent prepared by god for us and our life is guarantee through gods spirit.
So in this world we are confident that while our body is far from god but our sprit is close his spirit.
so we need be to ready to stand before the judgment seat of Christ in our conscience.
so we do not boast in heart rather boast ourselves in god as he died for us and rose again.
we are not of flesh but of God, he who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ
As like Paul we are ambassadors for Christ, and God was pleading through us, and we implore this world on Christ's behalf,

Application:
walk by faith, not by sight
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation - born again
we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ

Prayer

Lord help us to walk by faith , born again day by in your sprit to keep our life as holy as you shown us, to prepare us to appear before you on the judgement day.

Observation:
Our hope is that once we die, we will be with the Lord in the glorified body like our Christ's. As mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 says, If Christ is not risen with the glorified body, then our faith is futile, and we are all men most pitiable who are preaching about resurrection and the hope in risen savior. So, we walk by faith by trusting risen Christ.

But while we live here on earth, we want to be united with our LORD just like what Paul described in Philippians 1:23, 22. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

Son of Man will come in glory of His Father with His angels, and He will reward each one according to His works [Matthew 16:27]. Our Lord will render to each one according to his deeds": 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath [Romans 2:6-8]

Paul is stating that his ministry is like the ministry of reconciliation what Jesus did when he was on the earth. In Colossians 1:19-20, For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. They did it through the "Love of Christ" as it compels them to live a life on Christ's behalf to have Corinthians reconciled to God.

Application:
We should consider the present suffering in our mortal body are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body [Romans 8:18-23]

Since Christ became Sin for us, we got the Christ's Righteousness through the faith. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ and His Righteousness [Galatians 3:26-27]
