26 And he answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." 27 She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."

SCRIPTURES:
And he answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." 27 She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." - Matthew 15:26,27
OBSERVATIONS:
This woman was desperate. I can imagine she had contacted almost anybody and everybody to see about helping her daughter. She probably went to the Jewish healers, priests, and rabbis wouldn't have anything to do with her because of who she was, because of her barriers, but not Jesus, that wasn't his way, but he made sure she knew of them to reveal her faith.
There are three major barriers that she had to overcome.
- She was a woman
-She was a Gentile
-She was a Canaanite
This passage is about the faith of a Canaanite woman. As a matter of fact, it is about the "great faith" of a Canaanite woman. This would not be such a big deal if Jesus went around applying this compliment loosely, but this woman was unique in two ways. She was the only Gentile woman Jesus healed in Matthew's gospel, and she is the only person Jesus said had "great faith."
Faith DESPERATE for God's help - Desperation leads to strong faith. The story doesn't begin with us knowing about her great faith; it begins in desperation, where great faith often begins.
Matthew 7 says Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you." Here, from one they never would have expected, the disciples saw this kind of faith lived out. They got a living lesson on asking, seeking, and knocking. They saw great faith embodied, a faith that didn't quit with asking, a faith that wasn't ashamed to seek diligently after Jesus, a faith that wasn't afraid to keep knocking even in the face of no response.
APPLICATION :
Faith is God's appointed way of life.
-Faith believes Jesus Christ is God
-Faith believes that Christ died for us
-Faith believes we are blessed in Christ
Our salvation does not depend on who we are or on anything we have done but on who Christ is and on what He has done. "By grace are we saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God". (Eph. 2:8)
PRAYERS:
Heavenly Father, please help us to increase our faith and overcome our situations.

Scripture: Matthew 15:26-27 (Faith of a Canaanite woman)
And he answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
Jesus Christ answered to Canaanite woman's persistent request for healing her daughter of demonic possession. Then Jesus commended her faith.
Observation:
Jesus has high expectation from Jews since much was given to them. (Luke 12:48, To whom much was given, of him much will be required). He himself said that Salvation is from the Jews (John 4:22).
Also, God is no respecter of persons. [Acts 10:34]. Jesus commended and marveled at the faith of even a gentile centurion with the following words from Matthew 8:10, "Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. I say that many will from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus addressed the canaanite woman by comparing her spiritual condition with dogs. In revelation 22:15, dogs are in the list along with sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters. Also, in Philippians 3:2, Paul compared dogs with evil doers and Peter through II Peter 2:22 likened dogs with false prophets and back sliders.
Jesus showed us the practical example of persistent faith when we pray to LORD. In Luke 18:1-8, he talked about how a widow used to keep on reaching out to a worldly judge for justice and got her issue resolved. Thus Canaanite woman's persistent faith got revealed to us through her conversation with Christ Jesus and He commended hers.
Application:
No matter whatever situation we go through in our life, we ought to be persistent in our faith by looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus himself who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Prayer:
Lord, please help us to live a Christ like life on earth by exhibiting persistent faith.
