Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and [h]self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James 3:13-18 [Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom]
Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom

OBSERVATION
We need to be wise and show good conduct
we should not have envy, self seeking, boasting and lieing
worldly wisdom is root casue for all evil
eternal wisdom is pure, peace, gentle, willing to yield, mercy and good fruits
gods wisdom is without partiality and without hypocrisy
Proverbs 2
Moral Benefits of Wisdom
1 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding--
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
APPLICATION
Bear the fruits of sprit
Look at eternal wisdom not worldly one
PRAYER
Lord god bless us with the heavenly wisdom

OBSERVATIONS:
-This is demonstration of a living faith in the presence of wisdom
-Real wisdom and understanding will show in our lives, by our good conduct.
-Those who do their good works in a way designed to bring attention to themselves show they lack true wisdom T
-They show a wisdom that is earthly, sensual, and demonic. Their "wisdom" is more characteristic of the world, the flesh, and the devil than of God.
-The wisdom of the world, the flesh, and the devil may be able to accomplish things, but always with the ultimate fruit of confusion and every evil thing.
-Heavenly wisdom : The character of this wisdom is wonderful. It is full of love and a giving heart, consistent with the holiness of God.
-This fruit is like a seed that will bear fruit as it is sown by those who make peace.
APPLICATIONS:
- As a Christian, we always seek for Heavenly wisdom
-Wisdom of the world, will not bring us closure to God, instead it will separate us from God
-Wisdom from above is Pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy

Observation:
1) Wisdom and Understanding [Ability to think and act using knowledge, insight & understanding]
In Job 28:28, the first book in the Bible which was written talked about the source of wisdom and understanding as, And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.'
Jesus' delight in the fear of the Lord produces wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel etc., as per Isaiah 11:2,3 which made him to live a life of gentleness and humility for others to learn and follow. [Matthew 11:29]
2) Envy and Self-seeking [Be jealous of things belonging to others, having concern of oneself before others / selfish]
In talking about the fall of Lucifer the anointed Cherub, He want to be like the Most High [Isaiah 14:14] and because of beauty and He corrupted his wisdom for the sake of splendor [Ezekiel 28:17] which is satanic / demonic in nature. When Jesus spoke about Pharisees, he accused them of in John 8:44 saying, You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
Application:
1) Heavenly wisdom leads us to serve as per Matthew 20:28, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Just like Paul who said that it is good to serve and provide things for others who are in need, Acts 20:34, Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. 35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
2) Earthly wisdom is complete opposite of heavenly wisdom and this will be always self seeking and against all the good fruits that Spirit of Lord produce. Also, Devil is a liar and the father of lies. He incites people to live in deception.
